This is a food-grade silicone mat, not a nonstick-coated cookware piece. Silicone is a polymer chain of silicon and oxygen atoms, distinct from Teflon-type coating (Teflon) coatings on pans. Silicone craft mats are designed for rolling, cutting, and molding tasks at room temperature or mild heat (typically under 400°F).
