Do Yeti lunch boxes have PFAS?
Yeti lunch boxes average 64 out of 100 on PFAS Authority's PFAS and toxin screen across the 7 Yeti lunch boxes graded as of October 2026, below the 70 out of 100 median for the 43 other lunch boxes brands graded alongside it.
Yeti lunch boxes average Good on our four-band scale. 6 of the 7 we graded are worth buying. That is above 12% of the lunch boxes brands we grade.
PFAS Authority is a scoring system, not a laboratory. We do not test products ourselves. Grades are model-based, built from published ingredients, materials, certifications, brand disclosures and third-party lab results where they exist. See the rubric.
What Yeti says and does about PFAS
YETI says the ceramic lining of its pitcher does not contain any intentionally added PFAS. Its supplier restricted substances list says YETI and its suppliers eliminated all long-chain PFAS from production across product categories in 2021, and continue to explore PFAS-free materials in all applications. That 2021 statement covers long-chain PFAS, not every PFAS.

- Brand statementYETI says it and its suppliers eliminated the use of all long chain PFAS from production in 2021, naming PFOS and PFOA and their related substances. That is a claim about long chain PFAS, not about PFAS as a class. YETI Restricted Substance List Program, June 2026 ↗
- Brand statementIn the same document YETI says it continues to explore PFAS-free materials in all applications, which describes work in progress rather than a finished transition. YETI Restricted Substance List Program, June 2026 ↗
- MaterialsYETI’s numeric PFAS limit, 50 parts per million measured as total organic fluorine, is listed under soft goods. Its drinkware bodies, lids and powder coat finishes are not covered by that figure. YETI Restricted Substance List Program, June 2026 ↗
- MaterialsYETI publishes the OECD definition of PFAS, which covers any chemical with a fully fluorinated methyl or methylene carbon. That is the definition under which fluoropolymers count as PFAS. YETI Restricted Substance List Program, June 2026 ↗
